Shortly after World War II, Mendel S. Kaliff joined the insurance agency founded by his father in 1917 and became president of Morris H. Kaliff & Son upon his father's retirement. His main interest was Outdoor Amusement Insurance and he became the leading national broker in this specialty.

Known throughout the industry as " the Mighty Mendel", he established the name and reputation of the agency based on unsurpassed customer service, excellent pricing and scrupulous attention to detail. Many of the clients Mendel served for decades became close friends.

Alumnus of Texas Military Institute at the University of Texas, Mendel S. Kaliff is a decorated war hero and at the age of 18, was the youngest officer in U.S. Infantry in World II. He received several honors including the Presidential Citation and Air Medal awards.
